This unit consists of a hermetically sealed compressor with air cooled condenser. A capillary or expansion valves are next to condensers followed by medium temperature evaporators. Electrical energy supplied to the compressor can be measured by energy meter. The evaporator is immersed in the brine solution tank.
The apparatus is used to perform the following experiments
 To determine the coefficient of performance of unit.
 To determine the refrigerating capacity and tonnage of unit.
 Ice making capacity of unit.

Specifications :

 Compressor : Hermetically sealed, approx. 1.5 Ton cooling capacity.
 Air cooled condensor : Suitable for above compressor with suitable cooling fan.
 Expansion device : Capillary tube.
 Evaporator coil : Suitable for above compressor immersed in immersed brine solution tank/commercial glycerol.
 Brine tank : Made of 16 SWG SS sheet with proper insulation and covering complete with brine agitator of matching capacity.
 Ice Canes : 3 Nos. (make of thick GI sheets)
 Refrigerant : Freon-12
 Energy meter : For power measurement of compressor
 Pressure gauges: 2 Nos. for high pressure for low pressure.
 Digital Temperature Indicator 5 channel.
 Temperature sensor (Thermocouple) : 5 Nos.
 Service valve : 3 Nos. Needle type (Indfos make)
 Ammeter : 1 No.
 Voltmeter : 1 No.
 Thermostat : 1 No.
 Filter/Drier : 1 No.
 Brine solution/commercial glycerol.

The equipment is mounted on a sturdy frame with control panel.
