The apparatus consists of a single stage Air Compressor which is driven by an induction motor. It sucks air from inlet air tank through an orifice and air filter. Compressed air is stored in the air receiver. Delivery pressure gauge and temperature sensors are fitted. Energy meter is fitted to measure input to motor. This measurement equipment is provided to perform following experiments:

Compression ratio
Isothermal efficiency
Polytrophic index

With pressure relief valve and received drain cock.
Motor: 2 HP, Single phase, 1450 rpm induction motor
Measurements provided: Air inlet tank with air filter and orifice with U-Tube Water
manometer for inlet air volume measurement orifice diameter = 12 mm.
Multichannel digital temperature indicator for indicating temperature at various points.
Energy meter for measurement of input to motor.
Pressure gauge to deliver pressure.
